Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident from the moment she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks, after her first attempt. Felix signed a contract for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to study elementary education. The following year, Felix earned her very first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting a junior world record by sprinting 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest participant in the 200-meter race at the World Championships held in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, beating her time-tested Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently in the top 3 in her various events during the Olympics held in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
