Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actress. She made her feature film debut as the Bond girl with the film A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she starred in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Donnevan's role is in A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) were other characters. Doody was approached by a photographer and began to take on the role of model. She then developed her career as a commercial model. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle she carried over to her acting. In 1985, after being noticed by the directors of casting for the James Bond new film, Doody acted in a tiny portion of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named as one the twelve most promising actors of the year in 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. At just 18 as she played the role Doody was - and remains one of the smallest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a part for Doody as IRA Siobhan. Doody was a silent actress in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. Doody's first leading role came in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) prior to taking possibly her most famous role to date as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. The film also starred Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors who have portrayed James Bond. In the year 1991, Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the published fraud known as The Hitler Diaries. Then, she moved to Hollywood. She took over Cybill Shepherd as the L'Oreal spokesperson's part. Doody then appeared as Flannery Sheen's girlfriend and his agent opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II became available in 1994. Doody was part of The 2003 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine was her character in a celebration in recognition of an award. Doody's roles include a TV movie adaptation of King Solomon's Mines in 2004 and a book about the Holocaust, and an animated short called Benjamin's Struggle in 2005. In 2010, Doody shot a part of Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama, aired on RTE. The Asphyx was the 2011 version of her film. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. In 2014, she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. The Almeria tierra de film award was awarded to her on November 21 in 2018. She also received a star on the Almeria Walk Of Fame.
